After all hype created by the media I went to see Chithiram Pesuthadi just because we got the tickets and some of my friends have seen the other movies running in the theatre. We all met at Spencer plaza and did some window shopping. Time never goes on like usual when I am in the landmark store. I love this store soooo much that too the one in spencer plaza is paradise. I glanced through all the sections and meanwhile it also kept many others glued up with dedicated sections for Kamasutra and Western erotica. Landmark rocks….
We had our lunch at spencer and went to the theatre and to our dismay we have turned up very early and no problem time goes on very easily with 10 enthusiastic people standing in a circle and a plethora of topics to discuss. We entered the hall and a documentary film on Kerala was running. We kalaichified it a lot but it showed a lot of our country’s heritage and poverty status. Don’t mind what ever movie is playing we all stand up and dance at the starting….adhellam palaka valakam
Coming to the movie it was not at all up to the expectation, same age old story with little modifications. Malayalam Heroine Bhavana is the pick of the lot and the latest one added to my crush list. As usual heroine (charu) does social service, hero (Naren) rowdy works under a dada (kadhal dhandapani). After a few meetings heroine sight adichifies hero and vice versa and love blooms. Hero (thiru) fights for heroine, gets aruva vettu and is admitted to the hospital. Then in hospital heroine says punch dialogue “unakkum kasu vangitu adikara avangalukkum enna vidyasam….” Then hero sells panju bommai in pondy bazzar wearing a neck tie.
Meanwhile Charu’s father gives green signal for their marriage but Thiru is caught by police from red light area. $$$$INTERVAL$$$$. Padam was soora mokhai till that and after the interval it become much worse .Through out the film Thiru is portrayed as a angry person and shouts “Saav adichuduven” and everyone shouted the same after some time and it turned out to be hilarious. Later charu’s father commits suicide and she gets engaged with another person. At the end when she comes to know that Thiru was caught by the police in place of her father in the brothel she marries him. Edhu kadhai…..
INSERT: The song “Vaala menu…” has created great waves and it was visualized to the highest degree in the theatre. We danced wildly in the theatre and it was very lively. Later some porikki annas from the front rows also joined us and the dappangoothu was samma super. Then we ran like a train around the theatre and what a memorable experience.
P.S: Went to the beach after the movie…semma koothu…
Let me do a SWOT (strength, weakness, oppurtunity, threat) for this film.
STRENGHS:
· Heroine Bhavana, she looked awesome even though characterisation was poor.
· Gana ulaganthan and his portrayal
· One of hero’s friends-lively comedy
· Villain and team
· Songs made differently
WEAKNESS:
· Hero
· Story
· Screenplay
· Direction
· Irrelevant title (in some movies they atleast say the title in between the movie (remember “majaa”) but inga adhuvum illa…)
That’s all!!!
OPPURTUNITIES:
· Characterisation could have been better
· Great opportunities have come for Bhavana (she is paired with Ajith in ‘Naan Kadavul”), Naren has also signed some films.
THREAT:
· Huge threat to Director Mishkin’s head (enna peeru idhu….miskinu, pisikunu…)
MY RATING-5/10
