What a senti “MANDU”

Every one of us will have our own sentiments. It may be an object oriented or any happening oriented. Things are happening so weird for me that too with exams round the corner sentiments climb the hill tops. Although I am secular non-religionist I am bound by a few silly sentiments and to be frank I am not able to give up those superfluous craps.

Many of us are mainly bound by the dress sentiment unmindfully wearing the same dress for the umpteenth time despite events happening in a row. Generally junta used to reserve their new dresses for some special occasions but I used to try them when I go for some competitions either it may be a t-shirt or a sock or an underwear. It all started once when I wore a new dress and got the first place. Next time I tried it out with a
new underwear, wow it worked again. Then I used the new sock, may be a little smaller, I got the second place. Subsequently I ran short of new dresses and kept losing and after regaining a little I realized that it has got nothing to do with the blue underwear or the sock but still this senti stays in its place.

Exam sentiments are a plenty, many being common to all like pens et al but this one made me laugh out. Generally exams starts for me at 10 AM and as you are not allowed to leave the hall in between it has been a common practice among students to attend calls of nature at 9:50 AM so that they stay relieved. It was my second exam and what this person did made me roll on the floor. Generally I too had this conception but he was the one who revealed it. “Machi on that day I peed on that urinal and computer architecture went very bad, total I will try this urinal da!!!!” I still can’t get the connection between peeing and computer architecture. What a Battle in the LOO? If in my case considering bad performance I will have to use 6 urinals for all the 6 exams, so I prefer using the same urinal for all the exams. :)

The quizzing circuit is one more place where the sentiments and lucky shirts get piled up. Ask this person who wears the same red light checked half slack (not in the recent times!) he says “lucky shirt”, may be in the future quizzes we may expect this gunner jersey! Go gunner! Even though you may be a corporate you tend to wear the same nanji pona pacha colour kurta stating luck or this guy who wears the same black colour Che Guevara t-shirt and the blue jean. Unless somebody pokes Che Guevara’s eye leaving a hole and exposing some of the intricate parts the same one continues. Almost everyone is like this. But still changes keep happening.

Don’t you feel what we are doing is foolish? But still we love doing this!!!
F*** the LUCK!!!

I’ve always make sure that I never give up the paper to the invigilator before time is up. Even if I’ve answered every question!

Everyone seems to have some sentiment or the other… Even cricketers have sentiments…
Jayasuriya and his full adjustment before each ball is one such sentiment that has become a mannerism. Dravid always wears his left pad first while padding up…
Krishnamachari Srikkanth once got out when he wandered away from the batting crease as he usually did, and the fielding team (Australia I think) hit the stumps… The TV showed that wicket 200 times and the next day the Australian papers said that Srikanth was taking a walk on Juhu beach. Though I dont know whether that qualifies as a sentiment rather than downright childishness… Sentiments are just a way to try to establish one’s control over a situation.

I too have sentiments with regard to the time I enter the hall… I always seem to do a little better when I enter the hall after the question papers have been given… of course I loose time because of that…

Hey,interesting point you make there!XD Yes,I’ve seen the most rational, logical people get all superstitious before exams!Last year during our boards, there was even an article in the papers about students, exams and superstitions. The paper said something about how it’s only average students who are superstitious which I think is all crap!
