Chennaiist is a collaborative weblog and it is intended to share information about Chennai city. An initiative by a NRI from New Jersey Chennaiist provides a 360 degree view of various events and other hot topics in Chennai. I will be writing on college life and events in Chennai. If anything is cooking hot around you or in your college (Inter College cultural etc) feel free to leave me a message and I will try to cover the event for Chennaiist. My first post “What’s the price?” about the illegal management quotas in colleges is right now published there.

Happy to note that blog ban has been revoked. It was tiring to access every one of your blogs through proxies and pkblogs. Now we all are back with a bang. As I read somewhere at least the useless Government and the DoT have popularized the blogsphere by blocking and bringing the word blog to front page of all dailies and hitting headlines.

P.S: Chennaiist is looking for a fashion/lifestyle centric blogger. Please notify me if you are one or if you could find one.

    And what EXACTLY does a lifestyle blogger blog about?

    i would have been glad to report from a girls college;)…but do tell me if there are some inter collge events,plays etc…..il definitely come,even bunking college!

    for that category,looking for someone who can write about fashion,women’s wardrobes, lifestyles etc.,

    I kinda support the govt. here. The point is the govt. just wanted to threaten the ISPs a bit and they succeded about business … clinical and efficient. And again, the govt. asked the ISPs to ban only a few sites. But since geocities uses a ’slash’ to differentiate between users “geocities.com/ganesh” it is impossible to ban a single id, without banning all of it. And as for blocking specific blogspots, the ISPs werent properly equiped. So there. Its the ISPs and not the govt. For a upcoming jurno at chennaiist, I would expect some investigation before publishing… but then its ur blog.
