Make your Trip!

This is gonna be amazing fun and hell lot of adventure. After all the planning the dates for the Big race are fixed.
The Plan
* Each team consists of two members
* Each person is allowed Rs. 1000 and a back pack.
* Participants are allowed to carry extra money, but are not encouraged to use it unless they are in some deep trouble.
* Remotest village in a state is a must visit.
* Farther the distance of travel from starting point more the fun.

You can beg, borrow, steal and do anything during the trip to live and cover your travel expenses. Right now me,sagaro, sathish and Gitu will be doing it. Some others have also shown interest in joining the big race. Right now i haven’t thought of the possible ways but am sure they will pop up as we move. Do throw me your views.

I will also be doing a cycle expedition to Pondicherry in the first week of May.(Making the best use of study holidays). Mostly it will be Me and Ganesh. We may be joined by Kausik( Don’t know if he is alive though, long time since i saw him). Saw the pictures of Auroville and hopefully if things go on well we may stay there for a day.

I went to the air show this weekend. We had the TKF meet this sunday and it went on till 3 o clock. So i went to my friends place near by and went to marina around 4:30. It was damn crowded. Police estimated that there were around 4 lakh people in the entire stretch. Few moments before it started Siddharth came there. He brought two SLR Nikon D70 cameras. Wow! it is amazing to hold the SLR camera and take the pictures. The one which belonged to his father had those high end accessories and lenses (It stretched more than a feet!) and we took some close up shots of the maneuvers. Although i screwed up a little in the starting, later i also took a few good shots.

My master"pieces"

I was bored and sneaked into the kitchen. I have always loved trying to cook and end up doing something new! There was this Gulab Jamun mix lying in the shelf. Something to keep me occupied for the next hour. I read the instructions and starting mixing the dough. I heated oil and meanwhile i made the sugar syrup on the other burner. 40 minutes and i had those amazing master pieces in that large container. Unfortunately i forgot to take a photograph and all the guests were treated with the jamuns and i had to content myself with this picture. For all those peeps, it turned out very well and tasted excellent.

My model exams got over last week and due to some cancellations we have to write one exam after ten days. This time it was very worse. They made us sit for the entire 3 hours. A student can never get a more cruel punishment! Even if u sleep they will pull you out and ask you write the exam again. So blabber anything because the person who corrects knows zilch. Same story as before. I used the word Fuck six times in my software engineering paper. I love doing this! I dont want to bore you people writing it again. For those who don’t know what i do in my model exam, here are two posts which i love.
Oru “PEN”in kathai-Part 2
Oru ‘PEN’in kathai

A few memorable days this week. Yesterday was Mahesh’s birthday and we enjoyed a lot. 11 people having lunch at good friend Rajesh’s house, man its damn good fun. His mother showed great hospitality and cooking food for 11 college boys is not an easy job!
Then we went to the beach and cut the cake singing happy birthday at the top of our voices making everybody turn. Cash smashing, butt kicks( almost everyone got for some reason or other), hot bhajjis, sugarcane juice drinking contests…. amazing day.
Then we wet singer Naresh Iyer in the beach and took pictures with him. Very cool guy. He provided the perfect ending for the day!

Bangalore Barcamp-3

Bangalore Barcamp was good and so was bangalore. Although it was not that great as i imagined, it was great fun amidst the amazing IIM-B campus. We seven people from the TKF boarded the late night train to Bangalore and the sad part was we didn’t book our tickets together and we were split up in groups(lesson to be learnt next time). I went to my brothers place in Indira Nagar from the station and refreshed and started to IIM-B. Very good turn out, almost 350 people were there to attend BCB3. Some of the sessions which i attended were really good and i didn’t attend most of the sessions especially on the first day.

Registration was pretty good and fast. The name sticker sucked. On the first day, I tore 5 of those and only the 6th one i was able to stick on my t shirt. The second day fortunately the first one clicked!

IIM-B campus- Superb!!More than that the sandwiches which they sell at the 24 hour canteen are really tasty. That too for 15 bucks it is dead cheap.

Then there was an intro in the auditorium for which i was late. Some how the unconference mood was not there. Don’t know the reason, just because it was conducted in an educational institution or the way in which it was conducted.

I attended two sessions in the mobile sector of which “Active mobs” was very nice. Hope they bring it on to Chennai. Then we went to the lunch and some good networking happened in the canteen.

The best of all which i enjoyed was the photography session which me, ganesh and Gitu had. After lunch we went to the UFO tower(one hawt place in IIM-B) and clicked some amazing pictures. We didn’t climb the iron ladder to reach the top as we had our lunch just before and also it was steep.

After the first day, few people played Quake and this was when so thought straight-Sagaro told that every time he visited Bangalore he never missed going to NASA-the gay pub.

We went to a nearby restaurent to have the dinner and i left early. The second day i attended some sessions and discussions. Good gyaan! The one by Lawrence from Creative Commons was incredible. People even continued it over lunch.

Things learnt from two days in Bangalore
-Bangalore is one cheri place nothing much different from chennai.
-The money which i spent travelling inside Blr for two days was more than what i spent for my to and fro chennai-blr train fare.
-8 out of ten people in Bangalore work in the software field, out of which 7 people drink and smoke.
-You can get alcohol every 100 meters in almost all roads in blr.
-Traffic sucks and so does the local transport.
- Auto walahs cheat be it bangalore or chennai.

Overall a memorable experience and also attending the camp made me think a lot about my future. Hope i hit the best decision soon.
